An attractive mid-century map of pictorial map of Oregon designed for Portland's Tik-Tok restaurant. The imagery on the map shows the points of interest in the state. Images of agricultural industries, fishing and hunting are all also shown. Some imagery is quite humorous, such as the deer misleading a hunter near Madras. The major routes and cities of the state are shown. This was likely used as a placemat for restaurant patrons.
The map was produced by the Tik Tok restaurant, which existed in Portland from 1938 to 1971. The restaurant, alongside Yaw's Top Notch, was very popular with Portland teenagers. The original restaurant in the Buckman neighborhood has been replaced by highrise apartments, and a restaurant bearing the same name and a similar logo has now moved the hipster southeast Portland neighborhood. This new establishment has shifted from being a diner to a more upscale restaurant, reflecting cultural changes in Portland.
