Description

Original manuscript plat map of "Clear Creek", now League City, in Galveston County, Texas, drawn by Galveston-based surveyor R.W. Luttrell probably around 1900.

The map shows a series of plots and roads just south of Clear Creek, which enters Clear Lake and then Galveston Bay from the west. The map has six plots abutting the south bank of Clear Creek, as well as a large plot called "Galveston County Farm". The G.M. & H. Railroad is shown running through the eastern portion of the survey, between Houston and Galveston.

Luttrell's surveys are still being used by local government today: https://www.leaguecity.com/Archive.aspx?ADID=2494

The mapmaker, R.W. Luttrell, was active on either side of 1900, and this map was probably produced between roughly 1895 and 1906.
