Rare double hemisphere map of the World, which we believe appeared in Plantijn's Imago primi saeculi Societatis Iesu.
The map is set within an elaborate Baroque framework, locating major Jesuit Missionary centers with the symbol IHS.
The map is one of 126 emblems engraved by Cornelis Galle, celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the founding of the Jesuit Order.
