Ronald Reagan's World View -- The Only Known Example -- Signed by the Artist!

Previously unknown satirical pictorial map of the United States, published in Oslo.  The map is inscribed at the top right "To Angi and Vern with Love From Julie Leonardro."

The map contains a marvelous mix of Reagan-centric political humor, interspersed with a decidedly European perspective.  Issued 3 years prior to David Horsey's The World According To Ronald Reagan, this may be the first map to satirical map lampoon Reagan.

The map text starts with a humorous take on the Lord's Prayer, which translates (loosely), as:

Our Father living in Washington, Ronald be thy name, thy kingdom come, your will be done in heaven (first among all man) as it is on earth.

Give us this day our daily bread, and eliminate our taxes, as we eliminate them as innocent aro (?); and lead us not into temptation (Nicaragua), and release us from the infernal Castro.

For the kingdom is your power and passion for 4 years.

One of the more interesting features of the map is the inclusion of Yuri Andropov, then premier of the Soviet Union, who served from November 1982 to February 1984.

• Norway is Noway and Sweden is Schweiz (Switzerland)
• Margaret Thatcher is the Statue of Liberty
• Switzerland is the Bank of America
• Texas, trafikontroll for mantrafiken (Texas, traffic control for human trafficking)
• Muammar Gaddafi is the face of the Sphinx in North Africa
• USA.  The residence of Republicans, Freedom and God, in that order.
• Grenada - Liberated Area (following the brief American invasion of Grenada in October 1983)
• Clever American Negroes (classic theatrical character, with top hat and tails)
• North Pole; a possible homeland for the Palestinians
• USSR Godless Communists spies and liars
• Siberia Deserted outcrop populated by reindeer and shady characters that don't think like us
• Japan: Formerly cazy kamikaze pilots, now good guys
• Africa:  Naughty Negroes
• Germany: Germany before: war-mad mass murderers now: good guys
• South Korea: Cool Koreans
• Boeing 747 is the Korea Air Lines 747 shot down by Russia in September 1983.

Rarity

The map is apparently unrecorded -- we find no other references to the map.
