Description

Rare pictorial map of Texas, drawn by Harriet Godwin & Milt McKenzie.

A striking example of the Pictorial Map artform, packed with history, humor and delightful vignettes, images of the Capital Building and other native Texas scenes.

At the top left, the lyrics to Texas, Our Texas appears, flanked by the six flags which have flown over Texas, three on either side of the Alamo.

The prevalence of the Oil industry is clear, with no less than 11 oil rigs shown. A vignette is included for all the major universities, along with major industries, natural features and other points of interest.
