Terrific map of the United States extending west to the 98th Meridian. Double wide Arkansas Territory. The state of Missouri is newly formed. Northwest Territory extends from Lake Michigan to the Mississippi River, with Western Territory dominating the region west of the Mississipppi. Michigan Territory is shown. Green Bay and Detroit appear. Alabama is recently separated from Mississippi Territory. Many Indian Tribes are named, along with Indian Villages, forts and other interesting early settlements on both sides of the Misssissippi River Valley. The map extends west along the Missouri to Ft. Mandan and the Mandan Village, beyond the Great Bend, less than 10 years after the publication of Lewis & Clark's Account of their expedition to the Pacific.
