Description

Detailed map of the Philippines with a large inset map of the area around Manila.

The portraits of President Sergio Osmena Sr, the fourth president of the Philippines (1944-46) and General Douglas MacArthur, strongly suggests that this map was printed at the end of World War II, during Osmena's presidency.

Published in Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii, but "Cut Rate Liquor," it would seem likely that the map was intended as a promotional giveaway item, likely intended for Philippine ex-pats and the local ethnic Philippino Hawaiians, shortly after MacArthur's return to the Philippines in March 1945

Rarity
