Fine antique map of Patagonia, Chile, Argentina and Tierra del Fuego, published in Rome by Cassini.
The map illustrates the region south to Cape Horn and the Falkland Islands. The Southern Coast of Chile is still largely conjectural and would not be well charted until well into the 19th Century.
Cassini's Atlas is one of the last great decorative works and maps from this atlas are now rare on the market. A striking full color example, with wide clean margins.
