Fur Trade / Phillip Schulyer Shipping Fox Pelts from New York to London 

Engraved bill of lading for one hogshead of peltry shipped from New York to London, aboard the ship Elizabeth.

The Captain of the ship was Henry Seaver (also spelled Feaver or Ffeaver).  The owner of the goods shipped was Mr. Rutger Bleeker, Merchant in Albany, with Charles Lodewick also mentioned in the document as the agent in London to receive the cargo.

Charles Lodewick served as Mayor of New York City between 1694 and 1695. Lodewick who was a central figure in Leisler's Rebellion in New York and would return to London in 1710 to continue a career as a trader.

Rutger Jansen Bleecker or Rutger Bleecker (1675 - 1756) was an Albany merchant who served as Mayor of Albany, New York from 1726 to 1729.
