Fine map of the Kreyenhagen District, drawn by Louis Decker of Hanford California.

Louis Decker was the President of the Iowa Oil Company.  The map was likely produced by Decker during a short lived promotion.

The Kreyenhagen District is a shale geological formation, which adjoins the Devil's Den district on the north, and is partly in Fresno County and partly in Kings County.  

Louis Decker

Louis Decker was born at Ligonier, Indiana, January 14, 1866. He moved to Lemoore, California in 1886, where he became a prominent merchant.

Decker spent two years working in the oil fields in Kern County searching for oil. After that for some time he was a successful contractor and builder in San Francisco. Coming back to Lemoore in 1901, where he started another successful business.
