Rare promotional pictorial map of Connecticut, published by the Children's Bookshop of New Haven.
Rumsey notes:
The map shows schools, colleges and universities, roads, railroads, rivers, ships and steamers, airplanes, birds, landmarks, lighthouses, etc. Includes text, decorative title cartouche, nautically themed secondary cartouche distance scale and a compass rose. Bordered by vignettes illustrating historical events, buildings and notes: Yankee Bowl, the Mill at new London 1653, Webster's home in West Hartford, Nathan Hale's school, the Tower of Harkness Memorial Quadrangle Yale University, the Whitfield House 1639, etc.
There are apparently two states of the map, one published in 1926 and one in 1935, for the 300 year anniversary of the founding of Connecticut.
