Description
Fine pictorial map of Western Washington, celebrating the 1936 Shriner's Convention in Seattle.
This whimsical map was created in connection with the 62nd Imperial Council Session of the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine for North America in Seattle (now known as Shriners International). The map is filled with caricatures of Shriners drawing attention to various points of interest and activities in the region including skiing, fishing and hunting to name a few.
The map extends from the Columbia River north to Vancouver, and includes an inset of Alaska at top left.
