Description

Including The Robes of the King & Queen...

Exceptionally rare double-page engraved map of England, published by British mapmaker Robert Greene and engraved by Francis Lamb in London.

The map is colored in outline by counties, with early views showing The House of Lords, House of Commons, and the costumes of British Royalty and holder's of high titles, including the King, Queen, Prince, Duke, Marquis, Earl, Viscount, Knight of the Garter, Judge and Bishop.

The attire of the nobility was a central theme of the map, as reflected in two of the three advertisements in 1682, advertising the map:

Rarity

The map is apparently very rare.  We locate only the examples Kings Topographical Map Collection at the British Library, the Bibliotheque National de France and the Swedish National Archives, as well as one in a private American Collection.
