Unrecorded Lake Tahoe Map and Broadside

Extremely rare advertising broadside issued by the Southern Pacific Railroad, promoting holiday trips to the Lake Tahoe region.

Includes 2 photo-illustrations and a detailed map, one of the earliest printed maps to focus on Lake Tahoe.

The broadside notes:

Lake Tahoe ranks high among the world's scenic celebrities, and as a place for successful Summer Outings has few superiors. Among its noted resorts are Tahoe City, McKinneys, Emerald Bay, Talland, and Glenbrook on the Lake, and Deer Park Inn, Rubicon Springs and Glen Alpine Springs in the Mountains a few miles back...

Rates from about 18 towns and cities are given, with round trips from S.F. being $13.50, and from Los Angeles $29.50, and a trip around the lake itself an extra $3.00.

The Broadside is extremely rare. There are no copies recorded in OCLC.
