Rare promotional map of the United States, promotiong the lines of the Southern Pacific Railroad and Steamship Company.
The map provides a detailed image of the United States, focusing on the rail lines of the Southern Pacific, with large inset maps of Los Angeles (showing the Union Depot and Commercial Street Depot) and San Francisco.
The majority of the line was in California, Texas and the Southwest, along with a line to New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Alexandria, Louisiana. Portland, Oregon, Ogden, Utah, and Torreon, Mexico. Steamship lines from Galveston and New Orleans are also shown, along with a line connecting Havana and Key West.
