Description

Striking image of the St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague.

The St. Vetus cathedral of the Archdiocese of Prague is the largest church building in the Czech Republic. The Cathedral was built under Charles IV from 1344 onwards by Matthias von Arras and then by Peter Parler, based upon French models. As a coronation church of the Bohemian kings the cathedral contains, besides the graves of the Bohemian rulers, the coronation insignia, which are kept in the Crown Chamber.
