Rare separately published map of Poland, Russia, Ukraine, etc., published in London by Henry Overton and John Hoole.
Overton and Hoole appear to have originally set out to copy Herman Moll's map, and there is evidence around the upper part of the cartouche that a Moll-like cartouche was sketched out, but abandoned.
It is beyond question that this is an entirely different map, although there are strong similarities, including a verbatim copy of the text above the cartouche. The primary differences between two maps are the title, cartouche and area below the cartouche in this map.
The partnership of Henry Overton and John Hoole was a brief one, which resulted in only a few maps, all very rare on the market.
This is the first time we have every seen the map on the market. The only institutional examples of which we know is in the British Museum and the National Collection in Warsaw.
