Description

A fascinating map of Los Angeles, prepared in in the second half of the 1920s, utilizing one of Los Angeles's earliest survey maps.

The place names located around the map, for which red lines and circles identify the locations, are some of Los Angeles's oldest landmarks.

We have dated the map based upon its naming the Subway Terminal, which was constructed in 1924 and opened in 1925.

While seemingly a promotional map, it is quite possible that the purpose of the map was the promotion of an urban project, rather than a more general tourist/business type purpose and this may well have been utilized for some sort of development or re-development.

This is the first time we have ever seen this map.
