From Cyprus Point to Carmel to the Hotel Del Monte
Rare promotional pamphlet with birdseye view promoting the lands of the Del Monte Company in Carmel, Pebble Beach, Monterey, etc.
Fine full color birds-eye view of the Monterey Peninsula, Old Monterey, the Hotel del Monte complex, Carmel Woods and Carmel-by-the-sea. On the reverse is a real estate plat map of Pebble Beach showing every piece of property with the name of the owner of each property given.
The view shows the layout of a number of golf course, including:
- Del Monte Golf Course
- Pebble Beach Golf Course
- Monterey Peninsula Country Club (3 courses)
Town plan layouts are shown for several communities, including:
- Pacific Grove
- Old Monterey
- New Monterey
- Carmel by the Sea
The Mile Track, Polo Fields and Trap Shooting area are shown to the northeast of the Hotel Del Monte. In the distance table, distances from the Hotel are shown, but no reference to the 17 mile drive. At the far right, the Carmel Mission is shown.
W.H. Bull was the illustrator of a number of promotional brochures published by the Del Monte Company in the mid-1920s.
The pamphlet is quite rare. OCLC locates only 3 examples.
