Description

Interesting early map of Honolulu, prepared on December 27, 1893.

Originally printed as a foldout in a U.S. Government publication of 1893, this mapping of the city streets of downtown Honolulu was published during the final year of the Hawaiian monarchy.

On January 17, 1893, Queen Liliuokalani was overthrown in a bloodless revolution.

The map depicts the Esplande, Customs House, Opera House, Jail, Camp Boston, Iolani Palace, US Consulate, Post Office, Prison, U.S. Legation, and the home of J.B. Atherton.
