Decorative map of the World on Mercator's projection, highlighting the most recent discoveries in the NW Coast of America and the South Pacific. Van Dieman's land is still attached to Australia. Limited knowledge of New Zealand. Interesting primitive treatment of the Interior parts of Western North America. Some 17th and 18th Century explorers notes shown in America and Australia, along with a few late 16th Century notes in the Arctic and a note on Eric the Red's journey to Greenland in 982 AD. A fabulous map.
