Description
Rare map showing the wanderings of the Children of Israel in the desert of Egypt for 40 years, engraved by Johann Detleffsen, published in Minden.
Stylistically, this is one of the most interesting and unique Holy Land bible maps we have seen in many years. The sea god motif, putti and coat of arms in the top right corner are quite unlike most maps of this genre.
Combined with the decorative border and strong engraving technique, this is a fine and highly unusual find.

Minor foxing and one small spot at the right side of the map at the border.
