Highly decorative map of Africa from Brockhaus' rare Illustriter Handatlas, one of the last great decorative atlases. The map includes 10 vignettes, showing various indigenous African scenes, flora, fauna, etc. While the decorative maps of Levasseur, Tallis and Fullarton are better known (and more common), the vignettes on the Brockhaus maps are vastly more decorative and better engraved from a pure visual standpoint. An essential map for Africa collections.
