Description
Rare promotional broadside / poster dated December 1940 (copyright 1941) promoting the first edition of Louis Larmat's important atlas of the French Wine Country Atlas De La France Vinicole -- Les Vins de Bordeaux.
After the success of this first volume covering the wines of Bordeaux, Larmat went on to issue separately, volumes on Burgundy, Cotes de Rhone, Champagne, the Loire, and Cognac.
The map provides a color coded look at the Department of Bordeaux, showing the limits of the the Bordeaux Appellation and the Saint-Emilion Appellation, along with a host of other details.
The map was produced by the book's publisher, Ferwerda & Tieman of Haarlem.
Condition Description
Includes original metal ferulles top and bottom.
