Description

Striking double hemisphere map of the World, with allegorical vignettes of the continents in the corners and 10 astronomical diagrams in panels at sides.

This is a rare late state of the map, with significantly updated information for Austalia, New Zealand and the Northwest Coast of America, incorporating the voyages of La Perouse, Vancouver and others.

Australia and New Zealand reflect updated coastlines, although the shape of New Zeland's 2 islands is quite odd. The map was issued for over 50 years, with regular revisions to the cartographic content.

Condition Description
Minor creasing at lower left center of image, which has been professionally flattened. Several thin spots. Laid on a larger sheet of paper.
