Description

Detailed double hemisphere map of the World, which appeared in Leonard Von Euler's world atlas, published in Berlin.

The map provides a highly scientific look at the world, including diagrams showing the current of the ocean near the equator and 4 smaller hemispheres showing various projections of the earth's surface.

Incomplete projections of Australia and New Zealand, in the decades immediately preceeding Cook's discoveries.

The Northwest Coast of America is similarly shown pre-dating Cook and pre-dating the great JN De L'Isle, Philippe Buache, Thomas Jefferys debate.

This example appeared in Swiss mathematician Joseph Von Euler's Atlas.
