Description

Scarce map of the "seat of war" on the Texas - Mexico Border, extending north to include Austin and San Antonio, published in Cincinnati in 1847.

The map provides nice detail on both sides of the Rio Grande River, including:

  • Fort Alamo
  • Battles of Palo Alto & Resaca de la Palma
  • General Wells Route
  • Route of General Taylor in 1846
  • Fort Aguaverde
  • Fort Brown
  • Fort San Juan Baptista

Many other place names and early roads are shown in both Texas and Mexico.

The map is scarce on the market, this being the first example we have offered.
