Fine example of Louis Aubrun's view of Machinery Hall, one of the primary exhibition buildings constructed for the 1876 Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia.

This fine tinted lithographic view was one of a group of views commissioned in 1874 by the Centennial Board of Finance, as a means of publicizing and fund raising for the Centennial Exhibition. The prints were intended to demonstrate the impressive main buildings of the exhibition. The prints were also sold separately as souvenirs of what was to become America's first great tourist attraction.
