Fascinating pair of spherical projections, showing Ursa Minor, Sele Polaris, Ursa Major and F , from Libro dela Cosmographia, published by Peter Apian and Ranier Gemma Frisius.
Fine illustration from the first Spanish edition of Cosmographicus Liber, first published in 1524 and later revised by Gemma Frisius in 1529. The work was Peter Apian's first major work and is considered a standard 16th-century treatise on cosmography, geography and chorography.
