Finely detailed map of the World, showing the tracks and discoveries of Captain James Cook on his 3 Voyages of Exploration into the Pacific Ocean, prior to his death at the hands of Native Hawaiians.
Cook's tracks are identified with dates, including his explorations of Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia and the west coast of North America. The map also includes annotations with notes from his voyages of exploration.
Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) is still attached to the continent of Australia. The northwest coast of America is still quite primitively shaped, although Cook had dispelled a number of early myths.
A scarce large format world map, published in London in 1799
