Fine example of the title page from this important early illustrated work on horitculture.

Dominique Chabree (1610-1669) was a Swiss physician and botanist at Geneve, Montbeliard and Yverdon. He edited and published Bauhin and Chercler's 'Historia plantarum universalis', 1650-51. In the present work, the woodcuts of the 'Historia plantarum' have been incorporated in his own text, of which the first edition was published in 1666.
