Striking example of Nolin's scarce map map of Dalmatia, first issued circa 1689.

The map covers southern Croatia with parts of Bosnia and Herzegovinia, at a time when the Venetians and their allies were at war with the Turks for control of the area, concluded by the Treaty of Carlowitz in 1699. An inset shows the Istrian peninsula.

The map is richly illustrated with 4 coats of arms and 2 decorative cartouches.
