Description
Rare map of Italy from an early composite atlas by Mariette and Tavernier. The map reflects the marvelous early engraving work of the early French Cartographers, coming at a period prior to the commercial success of Nicholas Sanson, at a time when French commercial cartography was still in its nascency. The map is characterized by fine engraved lines, both in the marvelous cartouche and sailing vessels and the map itself. A fine wide margined example of this striking map.
