Rare map of the Territory of Utah, from Rogers & Johnston's Atlas of the United States.
Rogers & Johnston's map is the only commercial atlas map to show Utah Territory on a single map. The map was derived from the momumental and equally rare wall map, an historic collaboration between Professor Rogers, and American, and the Johnston publishing house in Britain.
The map is colored by counties and shows a number of interesting details, including towns, springs, Indian details, topographical information, forts, mountains, etc. A portion of Colorado and all of Arizona appear on the map. Includes inmportant early roads, several interesting annotations, elevations, etc. Each of the counties traverse the entire territory. Excellent detail near Bigler Lake, the Pillars, of Atlas, Mud Lake, etc.
One of the rarest of all maps of Utah. An essential map for regional collectors and the only obtainable map to show the early Territorial configuration.
