Description

Interesting map of the region covered by Marco Polo in his famous journey from Venice to China, beginning in approximately 1261.

Several interesting cartographic anomalies, including Japan shown as a peninsula. One of the few 18th Century maps which attempted to portray Marco Polo's route.

From Harris' Navigantium, perhaps the most important of all 18th Century English compilations of voyages of discovery. An attractive wide margined example of this increasingingly scarce map.
