Description

Fantastic promotional birdseye view of the Mc Clure & Co. Blast Furnaces in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, with a detailed map of the railroad lines from Connellsville to Stonerville and Mt. Pleasant, locating all of the various McClure Company Coal and Coke mining regions.

The view is quite rare and beautiful, having been used to illusrated the dust jacket of Modelski's Railroad Maps of North America: The First Hundred Years. (New York: Bonanza Books, 1987) and also repproduced on page 86.

OCLC locates no other examples of the map and view, but we believe that a copy exists in the Library of Congress.
