Description
Rare separately issued map of the City of Chicago and Cook & DuPage Counties by Rufus Blanchard. The map was apparently issued as a promotional item for Palmer & Colt, Attorneys at Law, 94 Washington Street, Chicago. The two attorneys, Louis L. Palmer and L.B.B. Colt advertised Special Attention given to Examining Conveyancing & Mortgage Loans. This example bears the deaccession stamp of the Library of Congress, dated 1944 on the verso. It was almost certainly issued without folds, although it bears two fold lines which appear to be recent. Blanchard issued some of the earliest available maps of Chicago. A rare Blanchard promotional in nearly flawless condition.
