Rare early plan of the military fortifications of Luxembourg by Guillaume Danet, published in Paris.
Danet's plan shows an exceptionally detailed image of the fortifications of the city, along with a plan of the town within the fortified walls. The plan includes a key locating 39 points of interest within the fortifications.
Includes a fine illustration of a winged goddess with two trumpets and a coat of arms on a flag, all set within a pictorial order.
Danet's plan is quite rare, with only one prior example in a dealer catalog in the past 25 years.
