Description

Rare promotional brochure, including map and birdseye photograph, promoting farm land and homes sites north of the San Fernando Valley the Te Junga Valley.

The promotor is called California Home Extension Association. We found very little information about this organization, but it seems they were active as early as 1904 and OCLC locates two unrelated pamphets from 1904 and 1907.

A California Home Extension Assocation founded by John S. Clarke purchased 2,000 acres of land in Monterrey County in 1905 in Rancho Arroyo Seco, which would become known as the Clark Colony and later Greenfield.

This same advertisement appeared as a near full page advertisement in the Los Angeles Herald on September 4, 1907. chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn85042462/1907-09-04/ed-1/seq-6/
