Description

Rare 1805 edition of Gusefeld's map of the United States, in the year following the Louisiana Purchase.

In addition to the original colonies, Maine, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, Vermont and Ohio are now states, along with a massive Indiana Territory (created 1800) and the territories of Louisiana, Missisippi and Orleans, all west of Mississippi River. The latter three regions are likely left over from the Spanish period.

While we have seen the XIII and XV United States maps by Gussefeld, this is the first time we have ever seen this XX states edition of the map, which is apparentlly very rare.
