Fine example of Boisseau's interesting pair of maps of the northern and southern hemispheres, published circa 1640.
The map provides a fascinating look at the regions of the World, with an unusual projection style and volvelle attached to hte southern hemisphere, a rare survival.
The maps are accompanied by sheet giving the locations of major cities around the world is entitled Table Generalle Des Longitudes et Latitudes des villes plus renommees du Monde..., which names Boisseau as the publisher and includes the date of 1649.
There are a number of editions of the map in French and English, the earliest of which includes Boisseau's imprint.
