Description
Rare reduced version of Edmund Halley's map of the world showing magnetic compass variations, based upon a larger map by Halley, also engraved by Harris.\
In the bottom left, there is a promotional note for the larger map, then being sold by Mount & Page. Includes inset maps of the Polar Regions and a fine detailed look at the coastal regions of the world, including a highly distorted Australia and incomplete coastline of New Zealand.
Condition Description
Trimmed to neat line at lower margin. Some soiling. Minor abrasion to the east of Australia, with loss of neat line and gradient at lower left and right
