Last year we shipped over 4,500 antique maps to more than 50 countries. Maps are shipped Monday through Friday year-round. If an order is received before 2 PM PST, we will ship the order that day. If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Shipping rates are provided as part of the checkout process.

Description

Fine early birdseye View of the University of Santa Clara (then Santa Clara College), from Thomson & West's Historical atlas map of Santa Clara County, California. Compiled, drawn and published from personal examinations and surveys by Thompson & West, San Francisco.

Santa Clara University, founded in 1851 by the Society of Jesus as "Santa Clara College," is California's oldest continously operating college.. It was established on the site of Mission Santa Clara de As ís, the eighth of the original 21 California missions.

The "college" originally operated as a preparatory school and did not offer courses of collegiate rank until 1853. Following the Civil War, enrollment increased and by 1875, the year before this view was publisehd, the size of the student body was 275.
