Last year we shipped over 4,500 antique maps to more than 50 countries. Maps are shipped Monday through Friday year-round. If an order is received before 2 PM PST, we will ship the order that day. If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Shipping rates are provided as part of the checkout process.

Description

Detailed map of the California Gold Regions, from an unknown French source.

The map extends from the Tlamath (Klamath) River and Mt. Tsasshtd (Shasta) to the Pueblo de losAngels, S. Anna and S. Fernando, identifying the Gold Mines, Silver Mines and the route of Fremont through California.

Pyramid Lake, Lake Humboldt, Lake Carson and Lake WAlker are shown, along with Lake Bompiaud (perhaps an early tribute to Aime Jacques Alexandre Bonpland, who accompanied Humboldt on his explorations of Mexico and South America. Curiously, the location of the Lake is not far from the future location of Lake Tahoe.

The source of the map is unknown to us.
