Rare untitled variant edition of Stumpf's map of Europe, oriented with south at the top, from his Schweytzer Chronick, first published in 1548.
This untitled example of the map includes all the fine embelishments present in other editionsk including sailing ships, sea monters, sea gods and other decorative features, although curiously there is no title at the top and all the title blocks are blank.
The first time we have ever seen this variant edition.
