Description

Detailed plan of the area around Valletta, which appeared in Bertelli's Theatrum Urbium Italicarum, first published in Venice in 1599.

Includes a striking view of the town, harbor and various forts and other features, with a large coat of arms and sailings ships. The Castel S. Elmo, Castel di S. Angelo, Borgo S. Angelo and Borgo S. Michel are named, as are Malta Citta and Valeta (Valletta). One of the earliest obtainable plans of Malta.
