Detailed map of Long Beach, California, with an area shaded in red showing the Signal Hill area, including oil derrick locations.
On the verso is a combination map and birdseye view of Southern California, promoting the Security-First National Bank of Los Angeles. The Bank issued similar maps of Long Beach, Fresno and likely ohter cities, with the same map on the verso.
The verso map is an early edition of a panoramic map of the Los Angeles Basin which was used for more than a decade on maps and advertising pamphlets. An example of a later edition, lacking one of the two inset maps, is on the verso of a Huntington Beach map was we offered in 2009. /gallery/detail/22943
