Description

Scarce map of the United States from Coast to Coast, showing the American Territorial configurations as of 1851.

Includes a massive Oregion and Nebraska Territory, large Utah (pre-dating Nevada) and large New Mexico (pre-dating Arizona. A curious early Indian Territory configuration is shown, along with a large Minnesota Territory. Predates the formation of Kansas (1854). Includes numerous Indian Tribes. Early railroad details are shown in Texas.

The note in the lower right indicates that the map is based upon a 4 sheet map by J.H. Colton, dated 1852. Marzolla's maps are very scarce on the market.
