Description

Extremely rare map of Marion County, Florida, adopted as the official map by the Board of County Commissioners and verifed by James L. White, County Surveyor.

The map shows a number of features, including railroads, roads, post offices, land owner names, and ahost of other fine details. The F.M. Arredondo Grant is still shown on the western edge of the map.

The map is one of the earliest separately published maps of Marion County. OCLC locates only 1 example of the map (Library of Congress). OCLC locates no other separately issued maps prior to an E.P. Noll map, published in 1892 (known in 2 examples),

Condition Description
Several minor areas of staining on the verso. Folds and a few fold splits reinforced on verso with tape, appears to be non-archival and recently done.
