Description

Detailed map of Nevada, printed for Stimler,Higginson & Co.

The map includes nice topographical detail and identifies a number of the local Nevada Railroad lines operating at the time. Among other more interesting features is the Surveyed Route for the Nevada & Utah RR and the location of a number of Nevada mining towns, which would become Ghost Towns within the next several decades. Orange stars are shown at Palmetto, Silver Peak and Goldfield, with towns such as Rhyolite, Bullfrog, Gold Bar, Beatty, Gold Center, Howell's and Davis appearing to the south, on the Bullfrog and Goldfield RR. Dozens of other interesting mines and mining towns located.

The Pittsburg Press of November 4, 1906 includes a brief description of Stimler & Higgson:

The firm handles mining properites, and is composed of Harry C. Stimler and C.B. Higginson. The senior member is the discoverer of Goldfield, and the firm is a member of the Goldfield Stock Exchange.
